Poised alternatives after the shutdown.

Poised, the desktop app that coached you during Zoom and Teams calls, announced it was shutting down on 10/8/2026. Here is what each alternative replaces, and what none of them do.

What Poised did

Poised ran on Mac and Windows alongside your video calls. It gave private, real-time feedback while you spoke, scoring clarity, filler words, confidence and hedging words, and tracked your progress across calls. Its homepage now reads: “Poised is shutting down on 10/8/2026” (poised.com).

So choose by the part you need most: feedback during real calls, a report after the call, or filler-word tracking over time. The table compares each app on those.

If you want feedback while you talk: Speeko

Speeko is the closest to Poised's live nudges. Its site describes tracking “your voice and speech patterns in real-time” with “simple, friendly alerts”, and it covers pace, fillers, pitch variety and pauses. It runs on iOS, macOS, Android and the web (Speeko, Speeko pricing).

If you want your real calls reviewed: Yoodli or Wellspoken

Yoodli's Pro plan includes feedback on uploaded call recordings alongside its role-plays. It is now built mainly for sales and training teams, but individuals can start free (Yoodli pricing). Wellspoken also analyzes recorded meetings and adds drills and a structured course (Wellspoken).

If you want short daily practice on your phone: Orai

Orai is a mobile-first coach: you record a short scenario, like a 60-second pitch, and get feedback on fillers, pace and clarity right after (Orai).

If you want to rehearse the call before it happens: Ace Coach

Poised coached you during the real meeting. Ace Coach works the other way round: you rehearse the interview, pitch, sales call or presentation first, with an AI on the other side that asks follow-up questions. A few minutes after you hang up you get the analysis: fillers, pace, pauses, how your voice rises and falls, eye contact on camera, and whether your answer made its point. Then you redo the answer you want to fix.

It's where you rehearse before the meeting, so the real call is never your first take.

Before you switch

  • Export what you need. Poised's homepage doesn't say what happens to your recordings and reports. If you can still sign in, save anything you want to keep.
  • Check for renewals. Make sure no Poised subscription is still billing your card.
  • Bring a baseline. Write down your last filler count and pace from Poised so you can compare in the new app.
Practice the call before it happens.

Ace Coach is an AI speaking coach. It listens to your answer, watches your delivery and tells you the one thing to fix next.
